I have been an elementary teacher for 26 years. I enjoy seeing the students get excited as they learn. I love being creative in my teaching and in making crafts. After leaving my career teaching children, I wanted another way to teach. I am currently a substitute teacher. Now, I am also a Close To My Heart independent consultant, teaching others how to paper craft making cards and scrapbook pages. I became a consultant so that I could share my joy of crafting and teach others. My favorite crafting past time is making cards for family and friends. My goal is to help others celebrate their relationships with family and friends through their paper crafting.
I live with my two fur babies, Charlie and Chloe, brown and white Persians.
Currently, I live in Portland, Oregon. I enjoy making a trip to the beautiful Oregon coast when I can.

Books: Most of my books are children's books since that's what I read since I'm a teacher. Here are a few:
* Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola (I like all of his books)
* Little Red Hot by Eric Kimmel
* The Stout-Hearted Seven: Orphaned on the Oregon Trail - based on a true story; a good read for adults, as well as, kids
* The Lemon Meringue Dog - based on a true story by Walt Morey
Adult Books:
* When Calls the Heart by Janette Oke
* The Zion Covenant series by Bodie Thoene
Vacation Places:
* Oregon coast: This is a favorite place of mine. I live about a 1-1/2 hour drive from the Pacific ocean. I love to see the ocean and spend time in many of the coastal towns. I find this a fun day trip or a trip to spend several days at. It's so relaxing!
* Washington, D. C.: I've been to Washington, D. C. three times in my life. There is so much to see and learn there. It's been a long time since my last visit. I'd love to go there again. I was on a tour of the White House on my 12th birthday.
* Colonial Williamsburg: I enjoy visiting places where there is some history. This especially became a fun place after I became a teacher and taught fifth graders about Colonial America.
and, of course,
* Disneyland: Who doesn't love to spend time at the "happiest place on Earth". I haven't been there for about 11 years. It's always so much fun. I guess I should go there again sometime.
* Victoria, British Columbia, Canada: Victoria is one of my favorite cities to visit. I love the charm of this city.
I'll probably update this with a few more of my favorite places.
