Skylark Starburst Card

I've been doing quite a bit of crafting lately.  Most of my crafting has been making cards.  I've been seeing quite a few starburst cards and have wanted to learn how to make those.  I looked online and found some directions.  I used the Skylark paper and here's how it turned out:

I used one of the stamps from May's Stamp of the Month on the outside of the card.  The word "congratulations" is from  D1539 - The Happy Couple.  I really like the style of writing.  I really like the look of this card and the colors.  The inside of the card has Gold Polka Dot wash tape for some added design.

I've been working for quite some time on a pocket book for my niece for her graduation.  It's been quite the project.  I kept adding more decorations.  The hard part was the binding.  I saw a sample and read directions for the books at Buttons 'n' Bows.  I already have The Cinch, but I've never used it.  The hard part was getting the wire binding to bend and come together.  After watching some videos, I finally figured it out.  I gave the book to my niece on Saturday.  Here are pages from the book:

The book is made using mostly Close To My Heart papers, stamps, and embellishments.  Some of the items are retired, though.  The pages with the Peter Pan characters are clip art that I've purchased.  My niece was in the play Peter Pan at her high school and she played Peter Pan.  She is an excellent actress and singer and did a wonderful job!  She even did some flying!  She can put whatever she wants inside of the pockets, add photos, and even write about her senior year.

Now, I need to work on a Father's Day card and another graduation card.  Hopefully, I'll find time this week to get these cards made.  I also need to plan my CTMH gathering for later in the month.  It will be my first actual gathering.
