I've made a some similar cards lately using the Timberline paper. I really like that paper for making cards for men. The first card was for my dad for Father's Day. Some of the stamps that I used are retired and from previous years. Today I made an almost identical card for a teacher that I taught with that recently retired. I also used the May Stamp of the Month which was stamped on May's Free To Be Me paper.
I'm really enjoying using wash tape. This card uses the Gold Polka-Dot wash tape. The secret is to have some hanging over the edge and attach the tape a little at a time and smooth it down as you go. Once it's smooth, I cut the extra that's hanging over the edge. I used Chocolate Woodgrain wash tape on the inside of the second card. It went very well with the woodgrain paper. This was my first time of using that wash tape. I really like it!
Supplies:
Timberline paper pack
Gold Polka-Dot washi tape
Chocolate Woodgrain washi tape (retiring after July 31st)
Lagoon cardstock
Chocolate cardstock
Cocoa Exclusive Ink Pad
Lagoon Exclusive Ink Pad (used on Father's Day card)
Current Stamps:
D1539 The Happy Couple (not just for weddings -- I like the style of the word
"Congratulations" for all types of occasions)
D1560 Holiday Tags
Cricut Cuts:
Artiste cartridge for cut around "Happy Father's Day"
Here's a birthday card that I made using the same paper pack. It is a little different from the other cards and makes a nice card for a guy. It uses the same stamp set (D1560 -- Holiday Tags).
Additional Embellishments:
Bronze Shimmer Trim
Triangle Studs
I'm sorry to see this paper retire. The new Idea Book comes out on August 1st. If you like this paper or any in the current Idea Book, order before they run out. All of the current papers are retiring and there will be 9 new paper packs. The nice thing is that the new catalog will run for an entire year, so you have 12 months to buy what you want and need. Go to my CTMH website by clicking Shop CTMH under the title of the Blog at the top or on the right side on the Blog just click Shop Online. Once you've done that, click Shop (on the top, left) and scroll down until you see Retiring Items. There you will see the entire list of items that will be retiring. These items are available until they are gone or July 31st. Some items are already gone so order soon!
I'm hoping to work on a thank you card tonight. I'm not sure what design or stamps I will use yet, but I'll post it later.
